About
Me
I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and spent much of my young life residing in Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up in northern Florida afforded me the opportunity to experience the beauty and magnificent power of the Atlantic Ocean along with the wondrous and fascinating charm of Northern Florida forests. Many of my friends were those of the canine, equine or feline type. I was able to spend many fantastic moments with my dog, cat, and horse pals.
I taught myself how to sketch by studying the movement, form and structure of these fine creatures. And because of my love for sketching all forms of nature, I practiced almost daily seeking a likeness through the mediums of paper and pencil. Although my studies later in adult life tended to the areas of psychology and health sciences, I never gave up my exploration of the fine arts. I am mostly self-taught in the various mediums of oil, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal and clay. I also enjoy working with glass when I occasionally create mosaics.
My other interests include spending time with my thirteen-year-old daughter, playing fetch with my two adopted greyhounds and black lab, reading, writing poetry, listening to and singing along with an eclectic mix of music, running, playing soccer, mountain biking, and riding one of my several skateboards. I love to travel when afforded the opportunity to do so. I intend to visit the Grand Canyon eventually and the coastline of Northern California. I have been residing in Wichita, Kansas since 1991.
